Spain Wins Maiden World Cup Title
Spain beat England by a margin of 1-0 in the final of the Women’s World Cup on Sunday.
Spain is the fifth country to lift the cup since the tournament began in 1991.With this win, Spain also became only the second nation to clinch both the men’s and the women’s World Cups after Germany.
• The FIFA Women's World Cup is an international association football competition contested by the senior women's national teams of the members of Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).
• The FIFA Women's World Cup takes place quadrennially.
• The 2023 edition was hosted by Australia and New Zealand, making it the first edition to be held in the Southern Hemisphere, and the first Women's World Cup to be hosted by two countries.
