IMF PROJECTS 6.1% GROWTH FOR INDIA
The World Economic Outlook Report, released by the IMF, projected India's economic growth accelerating to 6.1% in the March quarter.
• World Economic Outlook Report is a survey by the IMF that is usually published twice a year, in April and October.
It analyzes and predicts global economic developments during the near and medium term.
Because of growing demand for more frequent forecast updates, the WEO Update is published in January and July also.
• International Monetary Fund- Created in 1944, the IMF is governed by and accountable to its 190 member countries.
The IMF's primary purpose is to ensure the stability of the international monetary system — the system of exchange rates and international payments.
